Pyrenean Donkey Trek

Here you will find a variety of donkey trekking holidays. Whether it be for a weekend or a week, self guided or guided, your wonderfully docile animal is sure to provide great companionship! The various formulas on offer include circuit trails and treks that give you the chance to try out both easy or more demanding routes, and all guarantee exciting adventures for the whole family.

Why a donkey trek?
The obvious reason is that you do not have to carry your bags, which will make a significant difference to your trip, whether you’re travelling as a family or just as a couple (they can generally carry up to 50 kg). Strong bonds will soon be formed, especially with children, because of the amount of love and affection they show. A donkey will create a unique atmosphere and bring an added bonus to your holiday.

Preparation for your trip
Before any trip, careful preparation and instructions from a professional is necessary. Adequate time will be taken to explain the equipment required to ensure an enjoyable trip for all.

What pace to set?
Your donkey will happily go at the pace of its master and is always set to do what’s asked of it. Just like with humans, a short adjustment period is needed, but within no time your donkey will demonstrate a surprising amount of endurance.

Donkey hire and responsibilities
When hiring a donkey, it will be covered by the owner in their company’s liability policy. However, as you will be in charge of the animal during your trip, you automatically become responsible or partly responsible for any damage caused.
