The Self Guided holiday formula

Self-guided walking holidays are perfect for couples, families and small groups of friends.  It is ideal for  passionate hikers, as well as beginners.  It is a great way to discover a region at your own pace and in your own way.  You can decide how fast you want to walk, how much time you want to take for lunch, taking photographs, or having relaxing swim stops.   You make your way between the different hotels and we transfer your bags so you can walk freely carrying just a day sack.  Our itineraries are designed to stay one night, or two nights in a hotel before moving on.  On the stay put days you can do a circular walk , or simply relax and explore.

We provide walking notes, as well as maps with your route highlighted. Your dossier contains everything you need for the week's walking and our team is always on hand to help if need be.

Why choose an Independent Self Guided Walking Holiday?

randonnée

Independent walking holidays. Ideal for couples, or a group of friends. It is a fun way to go on holiday, especially if you do not have the time to research a trip yourselves, this can be the solution.

Departures Guaranteed. Independent holidays, both walking and cycling are based on a minimum number of 2 people. This means there is no risk of your holiday being cancelled, no waiting with uncertainty to see if the minimum group number has been obtained.  When you book your holiday the departure is guaranteed straight away.

Going at your own pace. You do not have to worry about being slower or faster than other group members. Going faster or slower than you are used to can be tiring. This way you set off at the time you want, stop when you want and generally suit yourselves. You can stop to swim when you want, take along lunch or explore a village, it’s entirely up to you.

Weekly departures. There are weekly departures for the holidays, so you have greater flexibility with finding a date that fits in best with your schedule.

Independent holidays but not unsupported. We have researched the best routes, reserve all the nightspots, transfer your luggage between hotels and provide you with detailed route notes and maps.  Should you encounter a problem during your holiday and need assistance, our staff are at the end of the phone if you need them.

Extra transfers.  Most of the holidays have rest days where you can do an optional walk, or just relax. However, there may be a moving on day when you simply do not want or can’t tackle the day’s itinerary. It is possible for us to organise a transfer for you.

Conviviality.  When there are other people that have booked on the same departure date there is a certain conviviality. You may bump into each other at points along the trail, or simply meet up in the evenings for a coffee. It is as sociable as you decide to make it.
